Audio codecs are applications that compress information for transmission and decompress so that statistics on reception cease. Its speed is measured in tons of the best bits processed per second, known as “bitrate” or “kbps,” and this quantity varies even within the same design. Typically, a lower bitrate means a smaller disk, but you still lose some additional information (sound) in the compression.
Other important factors are sample rate and bit depth. The sample rate is the number of largest samples (the best signal amplitude or “sound”) according to the second. Bit intensity refers to the number of highest bits according to the trend: the higher this number, the fuller (and potentially louder) the sound.
